Ambient nitrous remains elevated despite scavenging. What do you review?
Evaluate the entire delivery and ventilation system, then measure to guide correction.
- Check leaks, double-chamber hood fit, gas/suction balance, outdoor exhaust, and room ventilation.
- Reduce talking, crying, movement, and mouth breathing; use minimum effective concentration.
- Add high-volume oral suction and isolation where feasible.
- After stopping nitrous, give 100% oxygen for at least five minutes.
