A snoring child has large tonsils and poor school performance. What next?
Assess sleep-disordered breathing and refer for medical evaluation and possible polysomnography.
- Review snoring, witnessed apnea, restless sleep, enuresis, daytime behavior/sleepiness, growth, and airway findings.
- Dental findings raise suspicion but do not establish OSA.
- Screening identifies who needs evaluation; do not treat an adult questionnaire as validated pediatric diagnosis.
