MIS-C is a rare but serious inflammatory illness associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection, often developing weeks after infection. It can involve the heart, gastrointestinal tract, skin, eyes, blood, and other systems. Hospital surveillance criteria are not a substitute for clinical assessment of a sick child.
